Silkscreen will always pit you on opposing sides. This is basically a kill confirmed mode, which can either be played as a trooper or a hero. There's also the "small maps mode", called battles. In fact, it's the number 1 source for thrilling speeder bike gameplay and authentic Battle of Hoth. You have training missions, which are short, sweet, and cinematic. But unlike EA, I'll tell you just how limited it is at the moment, which is not DICE's fault. Although some of them still disappear when you run up to them and there's no fixing that.) Once I was tipped off to this fact, the vast majority of the hero tokens became usable for me. (I did learn recently that you have to wait about two seconds after you pick up a hero token before activating it for use. However, the mode is new and there are some bugs so some of the tokens are broken and that can be frustrating. There are a ton of hero tokens in Skirmish (which you have to find in order to become a hero on SWBF) so that the user can easily become a hero if they choose. All heroes can be used in Skirmish (you have to have the paid DLC to use the new ones) and it's where I go to get comfortable using new heroes when they release. You have no customization option offline and will respawn with a random outfit/head combination (for the rebels). All blasters from the game are available in Skirmish (so it's a good place to test them out before using xp to unlock them in multiplayer). Whereas the hardest setting is very difficult to win. The easiest setting will let you rack up 100 kills if you have a hero.
In Skirmish you have three difficulty levels for the AI bots. The devs said whether it expands or not depends on player feedback and what they determine about its popularity when they review the data. No word yet as to whether or not more modes or the Season Pass maps/modes will be added. Only the base game maps are available for these modes.
